RTX 5060 vs 5060 Ti: specs, speed and India prices
Updated 5 Oct 2026 8 min read
The short answer
The RTX 5060 Ti has 20% more CUDA cores than the RTX 5060 and was around 22% faster in Gamers Nexus's tests. Both use a 128-bit bus; the 5060 has 8 GB, the Ti comes in 8 GB or 16 GB. For 1080p gaming the 5060 is the better value; for AI or keeping a card for years, the 16 GB Ti.
Specs side by side
| Spec | RTX 5060 | RTX 5060 Ti |
|---|---|---|
| CUDA cores | 3,840 | 4,608 |
| Boost clock | 2.50 GHz | 2.57 GHz |
| Base clock | 2.28 GHz | 2.41 GHz |
| Memory | 8 GB GDDR7 | 8 GB or 16 GB GDDR7 |
| Memory bus | 128-bit | 128-bit |
| AI TOPS | 614 | 759 |
| Total graphics power | 145 W | 180 W |
| Required system power | 550 W | 600 W |
| PCIe | Gen 5 | Gen 5 |
Both are Blackwell cards with DLSS 4, multi frame generation and Reflex 2. The differences are 768 more CUDA cores on the Ti (4,608 against 3,840, a 20% increase), slightly higher clocks, and the 16 GB memory option. The memory bus is the same width on both.
Card makers ship factory-overclocked versions with their own power ratings, so check the box of the exact model for its recommended power supply.
How much faster is the RTX 5060 Ti?
Gamers Nexus tested both cards across several games and resolutions. The 16 GB RTX 5060 Ti led the RTX 5060 by about 22-23% in most of its examples:
| Game | Resolution | Ti lead |
|---|---|---|
| Starfield | 1440p | 22% |
| Dragon's Dogma 2 | 1440p | 22% |
| Black Myth: Wukong | 1440p | 23% (average frame rate) |
| Resident Evil 4 | 4K | 22% |
That is roughly in line with the extra cores. Gamers Nexus also warned that the RTX 5060's 8 GB of VRAM will impose limitations in some scenarios and will increasingly become a limiter.
Within the Ti, the 8 GB and 16 GB versions perform the same in most tests. Tom's Hardware's round-up of reviews found the 8 GB model matched the 16 GB model in most results but fell behind with DLSS 4 frame generation, which stores extra data in video memory. The FPS Review, as reported by PC Perspective, found little difference below 4K except that the 16 GB card held noticeably better 1% low and minimum frame rates, which is what you feel as smoothness.

SwapMyTech prices on 5 Oct 2026; prices move, check the builder. The gap between models changes week to week, so compare current listings before you decide.
On these prices the cheapest RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB costs ₹12,000 more than the cheapest RTX 5060, and the 16 GB Ti costs ₹33,500 more than the cheapest 8 GB Ti. The 16 GB Ti also cost more than two cards from the tier above in the same catalogue: an RTX 5070 12 GB at ₹89,999 and an AMD RX 9070 XT 16 GB at ₹82,799. For gaming alone, check those before paying for a 16 GB 5060 Ti.
8 GB or 16 GB: new games and AI
For 1080p gaming in 2026, 8 GB still works if you are willing to lower texture settings in the heaviest new releases. The reviews above show where it hurts: frame generation, high texture settings, and 1% lows (stutter) rather than average frame rate. If you keep a graphics card for four or five years, those are the areas that get worse as games grow.
For local AI, memory is the whole story. A model has to fit in VRAM to run at full speed. Ollama lists Qwen3 8B at 5.2 GB, which fits an 8 GB card, and Qwen3 14B at 9.3 GB, which does not fit comfortably in 8 GB but sits easily in 16 GB with room for context. Image generation behaves the same way. On an 8 GB card you are limited to small models; the 16 GB Ti opens the 14B class.
- 8 GB is enough for: esports, 1080p gaming at sensible settings, small local models, light video editing.
- 16 GB is worth it for: 14B-class local models, Stable Diffusion and Flux image generation, DLSS frame generation at higher settings, and keeping the card longer.
Which one should you buy?
| If you... | Buy | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Play esports and 1080p games on a tight budget | RTX 5060 | Most of the Ti's speed for less money; 8 GB is workable at 1080p |
| Want more frames at 1080p or 1440p and play mostly older or lighter games | RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB | About a fifth faster, same memory limits as the 5060 |
| Run local AI models or image generation | RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB | The cheapest 16 GB NVIDIA card in our catalogue; CUDA works with nearly every AI tool |
| Keep a card for four or more years | RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB | Better 1% lows and frame generation as games grow |
| Game only and can stretch to ₹83,000-₹90,000 | Compare RTX 5070 or RX 9070 XT | Both cost less than the 16 GB Ti in our catalogue on 5 Oct 2026 |
Both cards run on the same platforms. NVIDIA lists 550 W and 600 W required system power, so a good 650 W supply covers either. If you are upgrading from an older card, SwapMyTech can estimate a trade-in for it, or you can build it in the PC builder with either card and compare totals.
Questions people ask
- Is the RTX 5060 Ti worth it over the RTX 5060?
- For gaming, it depends on the price gap. The Ti has 20% more CUDA cores and was about 22% faster in Gamers Nexus's tests. On 5 Oct 2026 the cheapest 8 GB Ti cost ₹12,000 more than the cheapest 5060 in our catalogue.
- Is 8 GB VRAM enough in 2026?
- For 1080p gaming at sensible settings, mostly yes. Reviews show 8 GB falling behind with DLSS 4 frame generation and in 1% lows, and Gamers Nexus expects it to become a growing limit. For local AI, 8 GB limits you to small models.
- Is there a performance difference between the RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB and 16 GB?
- In most tests, no. Tom's Hardware's review round-up found them level except with DLSS 4 frame generation, and The FPS Review found the 16 GB card held better 1% lows and minimums.
- What power supply do I need for an RTX 5060 or RTX 5060 Ti?
- NVIDIA lists 550 W required system power for the RTX 5060 and 600 W for the RTX 5060 Ti. A quality 650 W unit covers both with headroom.
- Which is better for AI, the RTX 5060 or the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB?
